Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes: “Every woman should have the right to make her own decision. And I’ll fight alongside you every step of the way until they do.”

MADISON — Today, Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, candidate for U.S. Senate, released “Right,” the third television ad of his campaign. “Right” is part of a multi-million dollar ad campaign on broadcast, cable, and digital throughout the state.

Mandela Barnes is an only child, but he was not his mother’s only pregnancy. “Right” underscores the truth that everyone knows and loves someone who has had an abortion. In the ad, he and his mother share her story together and recommit to fighting to protect every woman’s fundamental rights.

Mandela is committed to ending the filibuster to codify Roe v. Wade.

I want to share my story so others can know that they are not alone.

When my mom and dad were first expecting, the pregnancy had complications and there was very little chance of survival.

My mom’s health was at risk, too. She chose to end the pregnancy.

It was my decision. Not some politician’s.

Every woman has the right to make her own decision. And I’ll fight alongside you every step of the way until you do.

I’m Mandela Barnes, and I approve this message.
